A Survival Kit Is The Only Way To A Happy And Warm St. Patrick’s Day

Happy St. Patrick’s Day.  It is still cold here in Northwest Iowa and tomorrow is our annual St. Patrick’s Day parade.  Now it will be all of 45 degrees or something which is a nice day for a parade but still a little chilly.  I have put together a mason jar survival kit for staying warm and happy during these times.

Survival Kit Supplies and Contents

Mason Jar

Bailey’s Irish Cream

Irish Whiskey

Hot Chocolate Packets

Drinking Glove

Various Pins/Buttons To Wear

Green Shamrock and Bead Necklace

Irish Bracelets

Mints (Andes are the best)

To Finish It Off

Scrapbook paper

Circle punch or Silhouette Machine

Baker’s Twine

Printer for Tag

This is such an easy, little project.  Use the scrapbook paper to decorate any or all of the contents inside the jar.  I wrapped a piece around each of the hot chocolate packets and tied a ribbon and I used my Silhouette machine to cut a 2 inch circle for the top of the jar.  Then I used one more piece to back the printed tag.

Everything else was just added to the jar so it would show from the outside.

The glove went in first because the cuff provided a soft surface for the bottles.  The whiskey bottle is glass.  I did pin a couple of the little buttons onto the glove for some added decor.

After the glove I added the two hot chocolate packets (they are hard to see), the bottles went in front of the hot chocolate then I added the Andes mints around the other contents and placed the necklace on top.

It is jam packed but that is a sign of a good survival kit, right?

When it was filled to the brim I place a 2 inch circle of the scrapbook paper on the lid and then I used one of the bracelets around the rim of the lid.  I thought it was a nice touch.

I created the tag in Photoshop Elements then printed and cut it out.  A piece of scrapbook paper a little bigger went behind it and it created a fun back and a nice border.

I punched a hole in the top corner and tied it onto the lid with the baker’s twine.  I added a fun little green beer mug too.  Just for decoration.

What do you think?  Would it help you stay warm and properly decked out with St. Pat’s decor?

Hi Nancy! I had a nice weekend but I did not see you in the parade this year. I was looking for you! Thanks so much for the nice compliment on my St. Pat's decor. It was a fun to make and create all of that and I was a little sad to take it down!
