I love these projects that use scrapbook paper that aren’t scrapbook pages. Today I have made a fun Mani-Pedi cheer gift bag using the new Cheerleading collection from Moxxie. You can see more of my paper craft projects using scrapbook paper in my paper crafts project gallery.
Mani-Pedi Cheer Gift Bag
Scrapbook paper is so versatile. This gift bag is inexpensive and would be a nice surprise for the cheerleaders. The Moxxie collection came out in July and I love the bright pink, white and black color palette.
Here is the collection:
As you can see it includes four double sided sheets of paper and there are two sticker sheets. One of the papers is the cut apart sheet. I love these because you can use them so easily on cards, pages or as a tag like I have.
Supplies needed for the gift bag:
Moxxie Cheerleading papers and stickers – I used the cut apart sheet, the Toe Touch sheet, which has the dots on the reverse side, and the Cheerleader sheet that has the zebra print on the back side.
Cello Bag – 4×9 – mine are pleated on the sides
Powder Puff Ink – Coal Miner
Hole Punch
Pop Dots/Mounting Tape
Paper Trimmer
Pink Raffia or ribbon
Small mani/pedi kit – I got mine at Dollar General
Nail Polish
Step 1 – Cut a 3.75 x 7 inch piece of paper from the pink and black polka dots and a 3.75 x 2.75 piece of the pink toe touch paper. Ink the edges with the powder puff ink.
Step 2 – Add 2 banner stickers and the All Star sticker. I inked the edges of all of them and I used the pop dots/mounting tape under the All Star sticker to give it some dimension.
Step 3 – I wanted my nail polish to stay put in the bag and not tip over and move around. So I added a strip of Craffty Power Tape to the back of the nail polish and stuck it to the mani/pedi kit.
Now it should stay put.
Step 4 – Insert the decorated piece into the cello bag then place the mani/pedi kit with the nail polish into the bag in front of the piece.
Step 5 – Cut a 4.25 x 4 inch piece of the zebra print paper. The 4.25 is the width so you will want to fold in half making sure that the folded piece is 4.25 x 2. Ink the edges.
Step 6 – Cut out the 3×4 piece that says “Bows and Bling It’s a Cheer Thing” from the cut apart sheet. Round the top corners and punch a hole in the upper left corner. Ink the edges. The photo below is missing the punched hole. Ooops!
Step 7 – Attach the folded zebra piece to the top of the cello bag using staples. Make sure the bag is between the folded pieces.
Step 8 – Cut out the star border from the cut apart sheet. Ink the edges. It wraps around the zebra paper to cover the staples. You can see it sticking out on either side in the above photo.
This is after the border has been wrapped all of the way around and glued down. No more staples!
Here is the front.
It just finishes it off really well.
Step 9 – Wrap some pink raffia or ribbon around the topper just above the star border. I wrapped it twice around then tied a knot.
Step 10 – Add the tag and tie a fun bow to match the saying on the tag!
You are done!!!
See how fun and easy this project is to make? You could make so many different gifts. These are especially fun as small gifts for your mail person, stylist, teachers and more. Just switch out the contents of the bag and the paper!
What do you think? Have you made these before? If so, what themes did you make? I would love to know.
