I remember being stressed on my wedding day and it was supposed to be the best day of my life. When I look back on it, even a million years later, there are areas I could have planned better to ensure I was able to enjoy the day. Here are 5 tips to enjoy your wedding day.
5 Things to do so you Can Enjoy Your Wedding Day!
Tip No. 1
Hire a Wedding Planner or ask a very trustworthy friend to take charge
Hiring a Wedding Planner will take a huge load off your mind. These people are professionals and they know how to make everything run smoothly from the day you hire them. They will know the vendors in the area, the parking situations, the hotels close by, the venue locations and how to deal with caterers and other vendors on the big day.
This puts your mind at ease so you can relax and enjoy yourself. If a Wedding Planner is not in your budget then choose a trustworthy friend or relative to help you with decisions. That way when the day arrives he or she will know what you want and how you want it and it can get taken care of without you. You are free to enjoy your day once again!
At my wedding reception we had friends and relatives helping buy my mom was doing most of the work. I was worried the entire time that she was working too hard and not enjoying herself.
Tip No 2
Choose a dress and shoes that are comfortable
Here is another story from my wedding. Are you ready? We were on a super, tight budget so I wore my mom’s dress. Which I loved! Don’t get me wrong. But, my mom is smaller than me especially across the shoulders. So, despite multiple alterations I could not raise my arms above shoulder height. Talk about uncomfortable. Looking back…I can’t believe I did that. But, I liked the dress and the price was right. The question is…Is it worth it? You have to decide but I know I would have enjoyed my day a lot more if my dress had fit me right.
Tip No 3
Stay on budget
If you go over budget by a small amount your world will probably not come crumbling down but if you go way over it is going to stress you out and on the big day you will be thinking, “We didn’t really need that. It was too expensive.” Just remember your budget though out the entire process and you will be stress-free for the day!
Tip No 4
Get things done early
Procrastination will only add stress. Even though everything will probably be done on the day how late did you stay up the night before your wedding to finish it all? Then you are too tired to enjoy the big party you worked so hard to make nice.
Especially if you are going by way of DIY. Be sure to complete things way before the day so you can relax a little or focus on last minute issues that come up.
Tip No 5
Don’t plan big honeymoon travel at the crack of dawn the next day
You are going to want to stay with your guests until the eleventh hour and having travel plans that require you to be at the airport or leave for the airport early in the morning will only add to the stress. Even if you are a young twenties couple, people need their sleep. Chances are you will have been up the past few nights with wedding issues.
Leave enough time, maybe even give yourselves an entire day to regroup and then head off to the fun, exciting honeymoon!
I hope these tips will help you or a friend to be organized and to enjoy the day. After all, it is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life.
