Quirky Desk Organizer

When Peggy and I were goodwill shopping I saw this guy and thought it was so fun and quirky.  I wanted to create a quirky desk organizer.

Quirky Desk Organizer

I like to have a place that is handy on my desk for things like paper clips and rubber bands and maybe some fun clips or a couple of my favorite washi tape rolls.  I thought about matching some smaller mason jars to the fun jars to my tinted mason jars but with four kitties in the house I new that having an open jar with rubber bands would not be a good idea.

When I found this I thought some of these items could go in the drawers and it would look quirky and fun on my desk.

I had asked Jeff to remove the drawer pulls and a weird, little finial from the top of the tiny cabinet before I took the first picture.  So picture if you will wooden drawer pulls glued to the front in the shapes of a circle, a square and a flower.  Super cutesy and a little weird for me.  I like quirky but I am going for a more upscale yet fun look for this new office space.

You can see in the picture below where the finial at the top used to be.  It was about 1 3/4 inches tall too.  The entire little cabinet is about 9 or 10 inches tall.  It is so cute.

I used the same chalk paint from my magazine rack re-do and some spray paint for the little wooden knobs.  I wanted a pop of color so I painted the inside of the drawers different colors to match my office and kitchen theme.

The shape is enough of a detail for me so I wanted to keep it fairly simple.  I think I pulled it off.

Memorial Day weekend is when we will be painting and putting the office together so I will have to take more pics and show you how it actually looks in it’s natural habitat.  LOL!

What do you think?  If you like it please share and pin!

Thanks so much.

Thanks Jess. It is definitely a different shape and I think that was what I was drawn to in the goodwill shop.

This is such a great find! Love how you've painted it, especially the inside of the drawers. Too cute!

Thanks Robyn. I wanted it to have some sort of color and that is what I came up with. I am glad you like it and I appreciate the comment!
