Hi friends. I have had some requests for more Photoshop Elements tutorials so that is what I am up to today. It is easy when you learn Photoshop Elements one step at a time so today we are going over the layout screen and what you see when you open up the program! Just the basics! I hope you will stay tuned for some learning!!

How many of you already use Photoshop Elements? How many of you are really intimidated when you open the program and see the layout? I created this tutorial for:
- those of you who get totally intimidated just looking at the screen
- people who try to get started but just can’t seem to start
- all of you who have the program but haven’t even opened it yet
If you can relate to any of the above bullet points then keep reading.
Learn Photoshop Elements – Let’s Break It Down
Here is the screen that shows up when opening the program. You don’t need to know everything at once. Just the basics to get started. This is version 15 of elements. The earlier versions have some of these items in a different part of the screen. For example the details for the tools are at the top instead of the bottom. These are things you will find as you go. But don’t give up…every thing will be there.
The video in this post explains just what is included in the screen above. In future videos I will go over each tool in more detail but this video is more about explaining where the tools are. The tools I use the most include:
- move tool
- magic wand tool
- brush tool
- eraser tool
- photo bucket
- dropper tool
- text tool
- crop tool
Once you use these tools and practice them for a little bit you will start to get the hang of the program and how it works. Then it will become easier and easier for you to use.

Now you can get started and learn Photoshop Elements one step at a time. I wrote a post about how I use this program every day and actually make money from it as a side business. You can do this too. Check it out.

Hi. No. I don't. I should do some. Is there something in particular you would like to learn?

I think the hard part for me will be remembering all the details with those layers! I'm not used to building like that...
THanks. This was really helpful!
