DIY Office Organization Station
I was pretty excited to see this in my garage one day. I received a Facebook message from my friend Julie saying she was going to drop off a couple of tables. Well, she did that but left this cute, little magazine rack too. Well, I guess it is a magazine rack. I loved it right from the start even though it looked like this.
It didn’t always looks this dusty. It has been sitting in my garage for quite some time. Even though I didn’t purchase it from a thrift store it still qualifies as an upcycle.
There were only a couple of steps to this upcycle. It was one of the easiest makeovers I have ever done.
A Little Repair
Two of the legs/feet were loose so I glued them back on first with some wood glue. After that it was just paint.
A Little Paint
I got out the HomeRight paint sprayer for this one. It literally took a couple of minutes for each coat. Then I touched up a few places with the brush that the sprayer missed.
Some Distressing
After the paint was dry I used a sanding block and distressed a bit of the paint. I love this part.
Adding Bookplate Label Holders
Jeff, of course, added the little bookplates for me. I had these left over from my Craft Organization project and I love, love, love them. They are from D. Lawless Hardware if you want to get some of your own!
After that….voila! So easy and done.
I spend a lot of time on my laptop sitting on this sofa and I needed a little organization station. It isn’t fully organized yet because I need to use it for a while. Then I will add the labels in the bookplates.
What do you think?
If you like it…don’t forget to pin it!
Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to visit all off the other projects.

And now for more thrifty goodness!

I love all things about this--the rack itself, the use of it, the color and bin labels! I'll be on the lookout for something like this for next to my chair in the living room. I have a small "office" area, but this would contain the ever existing pile of mail, reading, notebooks, garden plans and more! I've been thinking about a paint sprayer too, as the cans don't always do a nice job. I have an old wood two level magazine rack in my project pile, but haven't seen one like this--it was a super find! Great upcycle!

Thank you. You will love a paint sprayer if you get one. I have totally fallen for the HomeRight one. It is my favorite. You do have to thin the paint but after a while you get used to how thin it needs to be and it becomes easy peasy!

I love the color! It looks like a beautiful transformation, Michelle. I love organizing my papers and books and this looks like the perfect solution!

This is absolutely perfect for beside the couch. I like you work during the day downstairs, but the evenings are spent upstairs on the couch with the laptop.
The downstairs is organized but it would be super handy to have something exactly like this for upstairs a well.
Great makeover especially the little label hardware.

Hi Leanna! Thank you. These little book plate holders are my favorite and I love D. Lawless Hardware. They really made it look "office official" LOL!

I love this idea. Right now I have my stuff in a basket on the coffee table in the den. It is driving me crazy. This will keep everything organized yet out of the way and pretty to look at.
